Building on the success of our second festival—which attracted 850 participants, showcased 10 outstanding films, and honoured 5 exceptional films at the closing ceremony—we are excited to continue this inspiring journey.

This year, we are already receiving an overwhelming response from filmmakers around the world. The Second Nepali Film Festival was proudly recognized by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, along with many distinguished filmmakers, reflecting the growing influence of Nepali cinema on the global stage.

The United Kingdom, home to one of the world’s most vibrant entertainment industries, offers an excellent platform for film enthusiasts to engage with diverse audiences. As a key cultural event, the Nepali Film Festival London celebrates cinematic excellence across various categories. Organized by the dedicated Third Eye team, the festival honours remarkable achievements through official awards and embraces contributions from independent juries.

We look forward to another unforgettable celebration of Nepali films, culture, and storytelling!

Awards & Juries:

The official program of the Film Festival London promises a diverse range of cinematic experiences across its various segments. The jury will select ten nominations, with the final five films receiving awards during the closing ceremony.

Language Version and Subtitles:

All films at Encounters are presented in their original language with English subtitles unless they are in English or Nepali. Producers are responsible for providing accurate and timely subtitles to ensure accessibility to a diverse audience.

Eligibility:

Films submitted for the festival must have a duration of at least 1 hour and no more than 150 minutes. Additionally, they must not have been previously screened at any festival in London or been available on YouTube or televised on any channels. Only films that have been released in theatres will be considered for the festival, and they must have been released before January 2025. Priority is given to recent productions completed within twelve months before the January, aligning with the festival’s commitment to diversity and innovation.

International co-productions are evaluated based on the primary country of production. The Third Eye Director has the authority to make decisions on matters that are not explicitly stated in the guidelines, ensuring fairness and integrity throughout the selection process.

Submission Guidelines:

Interested filmmakers must complete the formal registration process online through the official festival website. www.filmfestivallondon.com In the event of any exceptional cases, the Third Eye director has the right to address any submissions on an individual basis to ensure that all submissions are treated fairly. Once the selection process is complete, all submitters will receive notification of the outcome, although individual feedback is unfortunately not possible due to the high volume of submissions.

Processing Fee:

A non-refundable processing fee of £50 is required for each submission, covering administrative costs associated with the selection process. Accepted payment methods include online transactions via debit or credit card or PayPal, ensuring a streamlined and secure process.

Screeners:

All submitted films must be in their original language with English subtitles, except for Nepali films.

Guidelines for Selected Films:

Only officially selected films are eligible for participation, with invitations issued by the Third Eye Team. Programming decisions are final.

Participants must accept invitations in writing, submit final festival versions of their films by the stipulated deadline, and provide requested supplementary materials. Each participating film receives a certificate of participation following the festival.

Presence in Film Festival London:

The festival would like to invite film directors, producers, and leading actors to attend the presentation of their films and the closing ceremony if possible. The festival does not cover travel expenses, food, hotel, etc. In the guest request, The Third Eye Guest Management will handle arrangements for the stay and participants need to pay in advance as the booking is non-refundable.
